Local installation and public artist, j9 will be dressing the main stage this year with 2017 being her 8th time she’s participated in Wide Open Space installations. Stepping away from the usual light sculptures, this year she will be using textures of the oceans floors and local rock formations as her inspiration.

For more than 20 years j9 has been a prolific artist, exhibiting in solo and group shows, receiving many awards and scholarships, and has been commissioned to create public art installations. She has worked on large-scale public sculptural pieces, murals, mosaics, in remote communities, at festivals and in community art programs.
