Casii Williams is a Western Aranda woman from the remote community of Hermannsburg in Central Australia. Growing up in a revered musical family, she listened to all types of music from Eddie Van Halen to Sade.
A third generation musician, being the first woman in her family that has pursued a solo music career. She first performed at the age of 10 at the Yiperinga Festival to 20,000 people.
She was only 14 when she released her first single Desert Pop Lock and Drop. Following formal vocal training in Adelaide, Casii experimented with jazz, blues and soul and rock and roll – and loved them all but it has been dance electronic music that helped her find her own voice. Her family history includes some of Aboriginal Australia’s most revered artists and musicians. She most recently released Fallin’ Down in May 2018, which has earned airplay on Triple j unearthed and community radio.
