The Wide Open Space program is 3 days of frivolity, noise, nonsense, mindfood, maneuvres, reflections, expression, desert culture… and maybe some unicorns pole dancing…seriously…. Across the site you’ll find programmed stages as well as spontaneous happenings on the WIDE stage, the Dome stage, The Red Room, immersive mini-spaces, mobile sound systems, focussed workshops, interactive installations and lots of other goings-on… how you experience WOS is really up to you and your imagination.
The festival program begins at 6pm Friday and runs through til late on Sunday night. It is a platter of succulent morsels ready for you to devour:
- music – a more broad spectrum of music program would be hard to find, with all things in the right place, at the right time! From bass music throwdowns, to chilled folky acoustics; from funky house music by the pool, to late night synth experimentations, from afternoon reggae sessions to nocturnal shredding thrash metal…. WOS is a multi-faceted musical mash-up across multiple stages. Music Applications are open HERE (CLOSING : 16th December)
- performance – a tapestry of cabaret and burlesque, roving creatures, circus and aerials, fire and a whole lot of dress-ups! Performance applications are open HERE (CLOSING : 10th January)
- art – as abstract as the word itself, the WOS arts program takes many forms – large scale video projections, immersive interactive spaces, engaging installations and a plenty of hands-on artmaking. Arts applications are open HERE (CLOSING : 10th January)
- workshops – a rich program of forums, sessions and lectures that spans dance, costume, sustainability, place & belonging, body movement/energetics, through to culture and politics. Applications are Open HERE (CLOSING : 10th January)
Full program announcements will be coming in Dec, Jan and Feb.
